George Inness (1825-1894) was a landscape painter, and one of 19th century's great American artists. This beautiful catalogue displays the full range of Inness's mature artistic output, from realistic images of the 1850s to the unique masterpieces of the late style he perfected in the final decade of his life. 63 oil paintings are illustrated in full-color plates and discussed in acompanying entries. The catalogue also contains two essays, 68 black & white illustrations, selected bibliography, and an 1878 interview with the artist. Binding is green cloth with gilt lettering, and a few small lighter marks on the back.
