Space Flight the Coming Exploration of the Universe

This book is part of the Golden Library of Knowledge. Written in the 1950's (but I believe this particular copy was printed in the early 1960's) it contains some wonderful information about the moon, space flight, and even a space station. The development of rockets and their different stages of burn are included, as is a chapter on spacemen. Although a great deal of the information is fairly accurate, the illustrations look as though they came from a science fiction book. 54 including an index. The index page is missing two areas, one rather large; all other pages are fine. The binding has moderate wear at the top corners and heavy wear at the bottom corners. The spine head is heavily worn, the tail is moderately worn, and there is wear at the front and back bottom gutter. The pages are tight; this is a fun book to read! Great gift for your favorite rocket scientist! 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
