He asks each "where do you live?" but get no answer, and follows them to see where their homes are. Illustrations are very colorful, using outdoor colors (not gaudy). The binding is worn at edges and along the bottom. The cloth is clean and bright, with a picture of animals and leaves in yellow and brown and the green of the cover. Unpaginated, the pages are clean and bright.
