This is the complete studio history, with all of the 1, 051 films described and illustrated. RKO Pictures existed in almost continual chaos, from its optimistic beginnings in 1928, until it collapsed into ruins at the hands of the megalomanaiac Howard Hughes nearly 30 years later. They made some of the greatest films and nurtured some of the finest talents. They immortalized Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, and almost ruined Katherine Hepburn's career. Citizen Kane, Bringing Up Baby, Gunga Din, I Remember Mama and more are included. The end papers are "autographed" by dozens of actors. The movies are listed in order by year along with photos of each. Includes an index of personnel. Bottom corners are bumped, spine ends lightly worn; jacket has a 1/2" tear at the spine top, bottom corners have light chipping and bumping. There is a partial address label on the inside flap. Oversized, overweight. ; Folio - over 12 - 15" tall
