The preface of this book states that if children are to be kept on farms, it is incumbent upon parents and school authorities to enlist their interest in scientific farming and stock raising at the earliest possible age. The book is divided into two parts; Farm Animals, and Soil and Farm Crops. Filled with black & white photographs and some drawings. Green with black lettering. The binding is lightly worn at the bottom, and worn through on the front vertical side 1 3/4" from the bottom up. The front is fairly clean; the back shows water stains. Pages from about the first third to the back have small water marks at the very top and very bottom, not interfering with page contents. 294 pages; binding is tight. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
