The jacket has a 1 1/2" tear at the back flap, properly repaired. The book itself has a tiny pull on the fabric at the front bottom board. ; This Is an otherwordly classic of the Christmas season. Late one Christmas Eve, after the town has gone to sleep, a boy boards a mysterious train, the Polar Express, bound for the North Pole. When he arrives, Santa offers him any gift he desires. He modestly asks for a bell from the harness of a reindeer, and the gift is granted. On the way home the bell is lost. On Christmas morning he finds the bell under the tree. His mother comments that it's a lovely bell, but it's broken. She couldn't hear it because only true believers can. ; Color Illustrations; Large 8vo 9" - 10" tall; 29 pages
