Preface: This little book aims (1) to interesst children in health from both personal and social viewpoints, (2) to provide interesting informational content appropriate to modern health courses, and (3) to build up a reading familiarity with the vocabulary, terminology, and idioms of health-study in the first grade. The book has 27 stories/question & answer sessions. The illustrations are bright and colorful. Several of the pages have discolorations along the page edge. 144 pages with a vocabulary and index to the health contest in the book, which is finding stories that tell one how to do certain things. The binding is cloth, and worn at the corners and vertical edge, as well as both spine ends and a small spot on the cover. The pictorial cover is somewhat discolored. The endpapers are decorated; at the front there ae some penciled scribble marks and a person's last name in pen. On the title page is a gift inscription; this was a Christmas present in 1933. Approximately 16 pages have tears, from tiny 1/8" tears (mostly) to some that are 1" to 1 1/2" and one that is half of the page. The spine is tight, the book is actually basic enough to be used in modern schooling. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
