This encyclopedia, written 55 years ago, has some stunning work detailed regarding sex change operations on animals, and for the first time included information on natural birth control. It is a well-written book and even though some of it is out-of-date it is still interesting in it's technical aspects. It is well illustrated with black and white drawings, and also includes many color plates. At the end is a medical dictionary, also fairly out-of-date. It includes some information on heredity (included in alcoholism), male and female menopause (is there a male menopause?) and several chapters on "The Sexual Impulse." 444 pages, including 23 color plates. The binding is cloth, which has a wrinkle on the front, and the top corners are bent in. Lettering on the spine is in gold. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
