Several men from the East descended on the West to a place known as the Colorado desert, wanting to reclaim the land for houses and businesses. The bankers daughter thought they were doing it because it would be a good thing for the lower income people who lived in the area, and was furious with her father when he told her that they were simply there to make money; no altruistic ideas were involved. They have several guides working with the sand, including a Seer. The binding has some wear at the corners and the spine ends. The lettering on the spine is mostly missing, and some of the lettering on the front is chipped. There is a paste-down picture on the front that is near fine. The front and back boards look loose from the spine, but the spine is quite tight. 511 pages, a few spots on the pages, no tears. At the bottom end of the pages there are some orange spots that don't go into the page. A very interesting, well-written book with four illustrations. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
