Hemingway was a foreign correspondent for many years, and this book, his third, was not published until 1940. In between he did have a short story published. This book is part of a series, of which others are available. The binding is covered in a deep blue fabric, with gold and silver lettering and a silver stamp of a quill pen. Very light wear on this book (shelf wear) is found on the spine top and bottom and the corners. The front board has a few places where the fabric is a bit shiny if you look in the right light. The title is taken from a piece by John Donne. ; 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall
