The "glad game" helped Pollyanna find something to be glad about in every situation, which was not easy when her missionary father died and left her an orphan. She went to live with a maiden aunt who know her duty but knew nothing about being glad. The binding is blue with teal lettering, and the page top are stained green. The jacket has light wear at the corners and a 1" tear at the top spine with chips; the spine end has 1/4" piece about 1" long is missing, and the front spine edge is worn.
