Illustrated Library Edition, The Complete Works of William Makepeace Thackery, Volume XXI of Twenty Two Volumes. The first contributions to Punch by Thackery appears to have been Miss Tickletoby's Lectures on English History. This was published, with 23 illustrations by the author, in the third volume of Punch. His last contribution was Letters from the East by our own Bashi-Bazouk, in 1854. During these twelve years he wrote for the weekly jester, as well as writing a great variety of poems, burlesques, and jeux d'esprit in general. Green cloth with gilt lettering on the spine and top edges. Very light wear at the corners and spine ends. There is a very light damp stain on the back binding. [11]; 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall
