 3. Dickens, Charles (adapted By Widdows, Richard)  David Copperfield
New York Gallery Books 1985 First Edition Hard Bound, Pictorial Near Fine No Jacket 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall
David Copperfield was Dickens' own favorite novel. Many of David's adventures as he grows up are those of Dickens himself; from poverty and obscurity he wins through to success and happiness. This abridgement of Copperfield has been simplified for a young audience, but keeps faithfully to Dickens' original text. The lively illustrations come from a series of animated classics. This book was in a school library; the only mark is on the fep - it says 4K. The corners and spine ends of the orange binding are worn a bit. 56 pages, illustrated in full color. No marks or tears.
