Click to view full description | 1. | Tarkington, Booth Monsieur Beaucaire New York Grosset & Dunlap 1900 Hard Cover Near Fine No Jacket 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall Photographs This is the Rudolph Valentino edition of Monsieur Beaucaire. After an absence of two years from the screen, Valentino chose this as his vehicle, this famous story of romance and chivalry. In this Paramount picture Mr. Valentino is supported by a notable cast including such well known artists as Bebe Daniels, Lois Wilson, Lowell Sherman, Doris Kenyon, and John Davidson (it's old, okay?); and every effort has been made to give the picture a production commensurate with the importance of the occasion and the merits of the story. It is Mr. Valentino's hope that the readers of this souvenir edition will obtain from the printed romance as much pleasure as he enjoyed in transferring to the screen the spirited events of its pages. The front endpaper is of Valentino, the back endpaper is of Ms. Daniels. Scattered throughout the book are scenes from the movie, as well as pressed flowers. 128 pages, plus several pages of ads and a sticker that says "Books Build Character, Allen & Co., Waukegan, Ill." The photos have pretty borders printed around them. Light wear at the spine ends and front of the spine, and the corners are bent in a bit and lightly worn. Price: 11.04 USD | See Full Description |
