3 Stewart, Mary A Walk in Wolf Woods A Tale of Fantasy and Magic
0688036791 / 9780688036799; Magic is the only way to explain how children picknicking in Wolf Wood are sent back into long-ago to rescue a werwolf from his terrible fate (unlike some, this werwolf is very kind). How else but magic could a ruined castle come to life with so much derring-do, so many people, so many flags fluttering from every turret - indeed, so much 14th century eating and drinking! In the end, of course, the wicked enchanter is hideously punished and the lord of the castle and his betrayed friend are reunited; the children come back with an enchanted story to remember always. The jacket has several chips at the spine ends and top corners. There is a splotch of white paint half the size of a dime on the spine. A 1 1/2" x 1/4" piece is missing from the back. All has been repaired as well as possible using archive materials and the jacket is in a protective cover. There is a tiny sticker from the original book store on the bottom back inside cover. ; Duotone Illustrations; Large 8vo 9" - 10" tall; 148 pages
