#5 in the Hardy Boys Series, this book is in light brown with darker brown lettering. The pages are tanned, and there is a slight bend on the back vertical board. The pages are stained dark blue. The jacket is in a protector and has two chips at the top (one very small, one about 1/4" wide. The front top fold has a few creases, and a very small chip at the bottom. The endpapers are done in orange and the jacket spine is yellow. This volume published in 1944.; 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall

#24 in the Hardy Boys series. The last novel listed on the jacket is The Melted Coins. The half title page and title page each have a 1" long tear. The binding is light brown with orange end papers and is slightly cocked. The jacket has a piece missing at the top spine and front, approx. 2 1/4" wide and 1/2" at the longest area. There is also a triangular piece missing at the bottom front near the flap, 3/4" long and 1 1/4" at the widest part. The top front flap is missing a small area, mostly on the inside, 3/4" long and 1" wide. The top back flap has a similar area missing. The bottom spine has several tiny chips missing. Jacket is in a protective cover. ; 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall
