Modern Women, Harris, Ruth
2 Harris, Ruth Modern Women
0312034024 / 9780312034023; Three women helped forge the most dramatic social upheavel of our time. Lincky Desmond, Elly McGrath, and Jane Gresch were all in their early twenties when John Kennedy was assassinated. They had inherited a world of traditional roles for women, but they were spirited, resilient adventurers in a new universe of untried freedoms and untested ideals. Together they burst out of the past and opened the doors into the future and, in doing so, became Modern Women. Book is beautiful, appears never to have been read. DJ is vanilla with black lettering and red metallic lines. The cover is also attractive. 439 pages, 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.

4 Taylor, Sheila Ortiz Faultline: a Novel
093004424X / 9780930044244; Faultline is an outrageous, zesty, funny lesbian novel that takes the rest of the world in stride. 5 Trahey, Jane Thursdays 'til 9
0151902615 / 9780151902613; We meet and follow the life of Penelope Smith through her voluminous personal and business correspondence. She gets warned, presumably by a friend, that she ought to look into the legal ramifications of publishing letters from her grandmother and others. The whole book is letters, memos, messages! Hilarious! But it also has a sober side. The binding has no wear but is sunned on the top and bottom edges. The jacket has two repaired tears. The jacket is folded over a bit at the top and bottom from shelf wear. The spine is tight but a bit cocked. The jacket is lightly rubbed. The book is unpaginated; the pages are clean and bright. There is a stamped star on the inside of the back board. Price clipped. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
