8 Otis, James Toby Tyler or Ten Weeks with a Circus
This story begins as a traveling circus stops for a performance in the town of Guilford, and in the process takes on a new hand - a spunky little fellow named Toby Tyler. Toby had been unhappy living with his Uncle Daniel, so when Mr. Lord, the cirus' peanut man, offered Toby a job as his assistant, he said yes. But the next day, far from home, Toby discovered that Mr. Lord was something less than a jovial fellow; he could be downright cruel. The binding corners and spine edges have slight wear. The DJ has a small tear at the top, another at the front hinge, and a small tear with a few chips on the top back. The botom has a 1" tear and two smaller tears with a few nicks. There is a pencil marks on the spine, and a scuff. The spine is discolored, slightly darker than the DJ. There is part of a label on the back. 223 pages, well-illustrated. No marks or tears on the pages. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
