Henry, Marguerite White Stallion of Lipizza (Signed)
This is the story of Hans, a baker's son, who was mesmerized by the Lipizzaners, the famous horses of Vienna that were paraded daily to the Spanish Court Riding School. Even though Hans was from a family of bakers, he so wanted to go to the Riding School. He went to the stables in the far-off meadows of Piber where the horses were bred, and enjoyed watching them frolic, and got to know one of the most elegant horses. Still wanting to attend the school, his heartfelt plans were broken when his father died. But eventually, with a lot of hard work and ingenuity, he began working with those wonderful stallions. His dream was coming true! 25 chapters of a few pages each, and an epilogue. 116 pages, illustrated in black & white and color. The book has light wear to the corners, top and bottom edges, and a bit more wear to the spine ends. There are two very light scratches on the front - 1/4" and 1", not deep enough to lose all of the brown cover of the binding. The end papers are beautifully decorated. The pages are very lightly tanned. 9 1/4" x 11 1/4"; AUTOGRAPHED BY THE AUTHOR.
