McGuire, Edna and Phillips, Claude Anderson Adventuring in Young America This is a small text book about how Colonial America. Using interesting language, some illustrations, and quizzes one can learn quite a bit from this little book. The frontispiece is in color, the other drawings in black & white. The subjects are split into three parts: 1) How the Colonists came to America; 2) Home Life in Colonial Days; 3) How the Pioneers lived. This appears to have been a teacher's copy or a smart kid because where one is to begin is noted in pencil. There is a notation by a prior owner that she was 10 years old when she had this book. After the quizzes or tests, there are ideas in each chapter on an activity that relates to what was just learned. Very interesting, good for home schooling because these things haven't changed. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. Macmillan and Company New York, 1929, Hardcover, Very Good, No Jacket; Book Sprague, Curtiss; 000205; Price:
6.90 USD
