Welcome to Nan's Book Shop

Welcome to the home of Nan's Book Shop. Please search or browse our inventory of new, out of print, and used books. We specialize in childrens books, history, vintage novels, gardening, crafts and hobbies, and art. And we have a little of everything else. We have recently acquired a large number of art books, so if that's your thing, be sure to bookmark this page and check back with us.

This month we have some interesting books on art and dance and several history books. Finally, we have a boy's series book titled "Red Randall at Pearl Harbor." And for little girls, we have a pop-up book shaped like a purse - very girly!

NEW - Below our favorites you'll find a few of the other new books we've added recently. Down to Earth is a reprint of a book written in 1971 about small gardens with brilliant information on childrens gardens, winter gardens, keeping plants flowering and much more. Each page has interesting facts and tips. The Race for Timbuktu tells of a true early nineteenth century search for Africa's city of gold. Following two explorers and using correspondence and other documentation to follow this exciting journey, the author details the beginning of colonization of Africa. Amalia's Tale is about a poor peasant forced to take in an orphan as a wet-nurse, who got quite sick from the infant. When the city fathers ignored her pleas for help, she found an ambitious lawyer who, after several years, won justice for his client. These are new books, with gripping stories to enjoy.

We're working on getting a picture of our store cat posted, but she just won't sit where I want her to . . . now she'll sit there but she won't look at me! A black cat without opened eyes looks like an anonymous ball of fur.
